Dr. Bauerschmidt graduated from Ohio State School of Medicine and trained in Family Medicine at the Moses H Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, NC. He practiced and has treated the full range of common health care problems in children and adults including acute infections, diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease,  to name a few.  Using Functional Medicine he expands the traditional role of Family Doctor as he seeks to uncover the root causes of your illness or infirmity. Once the cause of a disease is discovered and effectively treated your body returns to a higher level of function often with less reliance on traditional patent medicines that only control your symptoms and often bring their own negative side effects.

In addition, Dr. Bauerschmidt is a an experienced Emergency Physician, having practiced over 20 years in North Carolina and in Florida, where he served as medical director of Imperial Point Hospital in Ft. Lauderdale.  Dr. Bauerschmidt is further trained in Integrative Medicine modalities through the Amercian College for the Advancement of Medicine (ACAM).  He was awarded the designation CCT, Certified Chelation Therapy, by ACAM.  He has also received advanced clinical training at The Center For The Improvement of Human Functioning (The Bright Spot).

Dr. Bauerschmidt's philosophy of treating the whole person and understanding the root cause of illness is supported by his training as a Life Coach, through the Coaches Training Institute and Certified by the Physician Coaching Institute.
