At Full Potential Health Care, we believe that a full, long and healthy life is possible and we are completely dedicated to helping you achieve it!
Genetically, our DNA and therefore our bodies should last 120 years. Currently, based on data from the CDC, our life expectancy is 77.7 years. We are only living up to half of our potential! And worse - when you consider WHO data, the disabilities of our later years robs us of 7.7 years of life. In other words, we may be living until 77.7 years old, but we are only living "well" until about age 70.
At FPHC, we use both traditional family practice as well as cutting-edge functional medicine so that we don't just help you extend your life - we work in partnership with you to make sure that you live your life to its Full Potential.

A Return to Medicine As It Should Be
At Full Potential Health Care, we believe that the foundation of a long healthy life are based on 3 key factors:
- Perfect Physical Parameters
- Purpose in Life and Connection
The importance of this Body (Perfect Parameters), Mind (Attitude), Spirit (Life Purpose and Connection) approach to healthcare has been recognized since the dawn of recorded history. Only in the past hundred years has it been tossed aside in favor of acute interventional care. It's Time to Bring It All Back!
Perfect Physical Paramaters
Would you ever try to build a house without the proper materials or knowledge? If you did, how long do you think it would stand? Our bodies are no different. Our bodies require the best building materials the best plans and the most knowledgeable builders. Fortunately, we are blessed with DNA that provides the plans and RNA that helps build. What we need then is good materials. To that end, we offer the following services:
- Bio Identical Hormone Replacement
- Natural Thyroid Replacement
- Chelation Therapy
- Intravenous Antioxidants for heart health and control of inflammation
- Intravenous Vitamin C and other nutritional support for cancer patients undergoing chemo and radiation
- Nutritional Consultation to lower the antioxidant load on your body
- State of the art Infrared Mammography for the earliest detection of breast cancer
- Specialized laboratory testing to assess your biochemical uniqueness
This considerable health armamentarium makes it possible to improve the wellness of those stricken with any chronic inflammatory or toxic metabolic state (early Alzheimer's, cancer, fibromyalgia, heart disease and peripheral artery disease, to name a few). Further, with early evaluation, programs can be designed to prevent the onset of these diseases for many years.
Attitude
In his almost 30 years of medical practice, Dr. Bauerschmidt has noticed that the people with the best attitude live the longest. In fact many of the patients that he is seeing that have lived well and into their 90s have done so without medications or other current interventions.
How could that be?
The answer comes in attitude. To a person, each of these elderly well patients looks to each day with a bright smile and a positive attitude. Dr. Bauerschmidt’s unique training as a life coach as well as a medical doctor enables him to support his patients in:
- Changing perspective
- Looking for the good
- Expecting wellness
- Living life fully
Purpose and Connection
If you doubt the importance of purpose and life connection ask yourself the following question: How many people do I know or heard about that died shortly after they retired? How many people do you know that are depressed, lack direction or simply bump along in life being pushed or shoved first one way then another?
In his book The Blue Zones, author Dan Buettner looked at features and characteristics of people in population pockets around the world that were living much longer than expected. These areas extended across the globe and at different latitudes and longitudes. Therefore there was not and could not be a commonality of air, water, soil, temperature, or dietary habits. What the people in the zones did have was a sense of purpose for their life and a connection to their community and their family. In short, they have something to live for and somebody to live it with.
Dr. Bauerschmidt understands this on both a personal as well as a professional level. Personally, he had to re-create his life following an automobile accident that prevented him from continuing with his former passion of emergency medicine. Professionally, he has been privileged and honored to be able to co-create and co-present a program for cancer survivors, "What's Next for My Life." In this program, cancer survivors are assisted and given the tools to help reconnect to their values and re-purpose their lives in a meaningful way, and the results have been astounding.
FPHC partners with select, experienced life coaches to help those in need reconnect to their values and re-purpose their lives.
